Jessica Power to Participate in North Carolina Based Race 101 Program in 2013; Fundraising Efforts to Be Announced in Coming Weeks

Looking back on the 2012 season for Jessica Power and the Power Racing team and the results that they had over the course of the busy season was very impressive. They finished in the top five in points at both Mohawk Raceway and Brockville Speedway, won a feature event at Brockville, and consistently finished in the top five and top ten each night. Those accomplishments caught the attention of the North Carolina based RACE 101 school, who has offered Jessica a full scholarship into their program for 2013.

Over the next few weeks, Jessica and the Power team will be announcing a strong fundraising effort to help raise money to attend the program. Jessica did earn a full scholarship, but still has to come up with $2500 to attend the program, plus travel expenses to North Carolina several weekends throughout the year.

“We are really excited to be a part of the RACE 101 program for 2013”, states Jessica. “We have had several drivers from this area participate in this program in the past, and all of them have had a great experience and highly recommend participating in it”.

RACE 101 stands for Research, Analyze, Consult, and Educate 1 on 1. The yearly Scholarship Program focuses on working with specially selected young drivers (ages 13-28) from the US and Canada through an application process similar to a college or university. The program lasts over the course of a year, with proven teaching and coaching methods that give the students one on one time with instructors, classroom time, track time, hands-on experience as well as homework assignments and weekly online seminars.
