Jessica Power 2013 Season in Review; Busy Schedule Highlighted by Wins at Brockville and Cornwall; Top Five in Points on DIRTcar Sportsman Tour

The 2013 racing season was another exciting year for Jessica Power and the Power Racing team. After a bit of a slow start at Brockville, Jessica rebounded to sixth in points at the end of the season, and placed inside the top five at Cornwall Speedway.

Power’s season was highlighted by a feature win at each weekly track. She made her way to victory lane at Brockville Speedway on Saturday, June 22nd and captured her first ever win at Cornwall Speedway on Sunday, July 21st, just one week after getting passed for the win on the final lap of the Sportsman feature. Power was equally impressive on the DIRTcar Sportsman tour, placing a career best of fifth in the series standings. She was impressive at Super DIRT Week in the biggest event of the season before losing a motor late in the race.

“It was a good season for us. We had some really exciting moments, and we had some frustrating moments as well, but that is all part of racing”, says Power. “We are working hard in the shop over the off-season and we plan on coming back as strong as ever in 2014”.

The Power Racing team plans to run a similar schedule in 2014 as they did this past season. A full schedule will be released as the new season gets closer.

Jessica Power and the Power Racing team would thank all of our 2013 sponsors which include Speedy Auto Service, Gananoque Chev-Olds, Fastenal, Wing’s Live Bait & Tackle, John’s Your Local Grocer, Stover Bus Lines, Axcel Sports, Dash Lawncare, Great Chow Express, Star Diner, Len Corcoran Excavating, Glen Gould Estate Construction, Bicknell Racing Products, Bert Transmission, Atomic Sign Works, Bob Hilbert Sportswear, South Eastern Mechanical Inc., Camara Slate, NAPA Auto Parts, Lakins Tile, Integra Racing Shocks and Finish Line Web Design for their support and we look forward to a very exciting 2014 season.

Jessica Power Grabs Sixth Place Finish in DIRTcar Sportsman Season Finale at Brockville Speedway; Top Five in Overall Series Standings

With Syracuse in the record books for another year, Jessica Power and her team turned their attention to finishing out the 2013 season at Brockville Speedway last Friday night. They were solidly inside the top five in the DIRTcar Sportsman Series standings, and were looking to make use of their home track advantage against the series invaders from other tracks.

Jessica and the Power Racing team arrived at Brockville Speedway on Friday afternoon and were ready for battle in the final round of the DIRTcar Sportsman series. Jessica posted the fourth quickest time in her time trial group, placing her on the outside of row two to start the heat race. Jessica was able to advance one position, locking into the all-important redraw for a top 12 starting spot in the main event. After drawing a front row starting spot, Power struggled in the early going, and when the race was stopped for rain on lap 13, she had dropped to seventh place. After a brief delay, Jessica restarted from seventh, and again dropped back to as low as 12th by lap 30. Over the final 20 laps, Jessica was able to regroup, and by the checkered flag, she was back up to sixth place.

“It was a tough race out there tonight”, says Power after the race. “We battled back to salvage a decent finish. “We had a great year, picking up a couple wins, and some strong finishes, and we were a top five car on the DIRTcar tour, so we are pretty happy with that”.

On Sunday, Jessica and the Power Racing team attended the Lyndhurst Gun and Militaria Show as a guest of sponsor Wing’s Live Bait and Tackle. The team helped sell raffle tickets, and the draw took place Sunday at the show. John Price was the 1st place winner, taking home a Remington 870 Express Shot Gun. Holly Bell was the 2nd place winner, earning a $75 gift certificate to Wing’s Live Bait & Tackle, while Terry Bennett won the 3rd place prize which was a $50 Wing’s Live Bait & Tackle Gift Certificate. We will be back in the Spring with another raffle.

“I really have to thank Wing’s Live Bait & Tackle for their help with the raffle, and their support of our race team the past two years”, says Power. “We look forward to continuing our relationship with them in 2014 and beyond”.

Jessica Power and the Power Racing team would thank all of our 2013 sponsors which include Speedy Auto Service, Gananoque Chev-Olds, Fastenal, Wing’s Live Bait & Tackle, John’s Your Local Grocer, Stover Bus Lines, Axcel Sports, Dash Lawncare, Great Chow Express, Star Diner, Len Corcoran Excavating, Glen Gould Estate Construction, Bicknell Racing Products, Bert Transmission, Atomic Sign Works, Bob Hilbert Sportswear, South Eastern Mechanical Inc., Camara Slate, NAPA Auto Parts, Lakins Tile, Integra Racing Shocks and Finish Line Web Design for their support and we look forward to a great finish to the 2013 season.

Jessica Power Looking to Rebound at Brockville Season Finale This Weekend After Disappointing Super DIRT Week Results

This past week was a busy one for Jessica Power and the Power Racing team, as they competed at Super DIRT Week XLII at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, as well as a DIRTcar Sportsman Series race at nearby Weedsport Speedway on Wednesday evening.

The Power team arrived at the New York State Fairgrounds on Wednesday and went through the pre-race tech inspection. They then packed up and headed to Weedsport Speedway for the DIRTcar Sportsman Series event. Power drove the Dana Aikins #8a car at Weedsport as her own #52 was already prepared for battle at the Fairgrounds for the weekend events. It was a struggle all night at Weedsport, having to use a provisional starting spot to make the feature. To make matters worse, Power lost brakes in the feature and ended up finishing the race with a disappointing 27th place result.

“It was a tough night for us at Weedsport”, says Power. “It was tough trying to adjust to a different car, and it didn’t help losing the brakes in the feature. We will get back to the fairgrounds now and hope for some better results over there. I really have to thank Dana Aikins and the Aikins family for allowing us to use their car while we save ours for the Fairgrounds”.

Friday morning consisted of opening practice for the Sportsman division and Power timed 16th overall out of the 58 teams on hand. Time trials was up next, and Power timed 17th place. She started her 10 lap heat race on Friday night from the sixth position and raced her way into Saturday’s big event.

Jessica had a good start to the day on Saturday, posting the 8th fastest speed in practice. She started the 30 lap championship race on Saturday afternoon from the 18th starting spot, and was moving forward early, racing her way up to 12th place by halfway. With just 11 laps remaining, the motor let go, ending a great run at Syracuse.

“It is a really disappointing end to a great week”, says Power. “We had a fast car, and we really learned a lot. I am happy with how well the car worked here this week, and am optimistic about coming back here next year even better”.

Jessica Power and the Power Racing team would thank all of our 2013 sponsors which include Speedy Auto Service, Gananoque Chev-Olds, Fastenal, Wing’s Live Bait & Tackle, John’s Your Local Grocer, Stover Bus Lines, Axcel Sports, Dash Lawncare, Great Chow Express, Star Diner, Len Corcoran Excavating, Glen Gould Estate Construction, Bicknell Racing Products, Bert Transmission, Atomic Sign Works, Bob Hilbert Sportswear, South Eastern Mechanical Inc., Camara Slate, NAPA Auto Parts, Lakins Tile, Integra Racing Shocks and Finish Line Web Design for their support and we look forward to a great finish to the 2013 season.

Jessica Power Gets Back on Track With Solid 3rd Place Performance at Brighton Speedway on Saturday Night; Super DIRT Week Coming up Next

After a tough battle the previous week at Mohawk International Raceway, Jessica Power and the Power Racing team were looking forward to getting back on the track this past weekend for the next round of the DIRTcar Sportsman Series. The destination this week was at Brighton Speedway, where Power first began her racing career in the 4 cylinder class back in 2004.

The night began with the typical time trial format for most DIRTcar Sportsman Series events. Jessica posted the second fastest speed in her group, earning a front row starting spot for the eight lap qualifying heat race. She led the race early, and just when it looked like she was going to grab the heat race win, she dropped to second after a photo finish at the checkered flag. Power still finished in a position to make the redraw for a top 12 starting spot in the 35 lap main event, and by luck of the draw she selected position number three, and lined up on the inside of the second row. Jessica moved to second early, and settled into third for the first part of the race. After a great battle for the third position in the closing laps, Jessica crossed the line with a solid third place finish.

“It was a good run for us tonight”, says Power. “We qualified well, and raced in the top five all night long. It was a really good points race too, gaining ground on the series point leader. We are happy with that, and we will now pack up and move on to the next race, and hope to keep it up”.

That next race was supposed to be Saturday night at Le RPM Speedway in St. Marcel, Quebec. An all day rain, and a forecast of more rain throughout the evening forced track and series officials to cancel the program.

Power will now have a couple weeks off to prepare for Super DIRT Week in Syracuse, New York. The DIRTcar Sportsman Series continues on Wednesday, October 9th at Weedsport Speedway, followed by practice and time trials at the New York State Fairgrounds on Thursday, October 10th, more practice and heat races on October 11th and the 30 lap DIRTcar Sportsman main event at the Fairgrounds on Saturday, October 12th. The season will conclude on Friday, October 18th at Brockville Speedway for the DIRTcar Northeast Fall Nationals.

Jessica Power and the Power Racing team would like to thank all of our 2013 sponsors which include Speedy Auto Service, Gananoque Chev-Olds, Fastenal, Wing’s Live Bait & Tackle, John’s Your Local Grocer, Stover Bus Lines, Axcel Sports, Dash Lawncare, Great Chow Express, Star Diner, Len Corcoran Excavating, Glen Gould Estate Construction, Bicknell Racing Products, Bert Transmission, Atomic Sign Works, Bob Hilbert Sportswear, South Eastern Mechanical Inc., Camara Slate, NAPA Auto Parts, Lakins Tile and Finish Line Web Design for their support and we look forward to a very exciting 2013 campaign.

Jessica Power Looking to Rebound From 13th Place Finish at Mohawk International Raceway on Saturday Night; Busy Weekend Coming Up

With Mohawk International Raceway the next stop on the DIRTcar Sportsman Series schedule, Jessica Power and the Power Racing team were hoping they would have an advantage, with a full season of notes from last season in their arsenal after competing there weekly in 2012.

Saturday night started off well for Power, posting the third fastest time in her time trial group, earning the third starting spot in her qualifying heat race. She maintained that spot, and would make the redraw for a top 12 starting spot in the 50 lap main event. The draw did not go as hoped for Power, selecting the 12th position out of the 12 numbers available. She started the main event from the outside of row six. It was a struggle for much of the race for Power, and the end result was a disappointing 13th place result.

“We would have liked to have had a top 10 finish, but it just wasn’t meant to be tonight”, says Power after the race. “The car is still one piece for next weekend, and we will go back to the shop and get ready for another busy weekend”.

This coming weekend, Jessica Power will continue the DIRTcar Sportsman Series schedule with a trip to Brighton Speedway on Friday night before packing up and heading to Le RPM Speedway in St. Marcel, Quebec on Saturday. After that, the team will get ready for Super DIRT Week, followed by the season ending 1000 Islands RV DIRTcar Northeast Fall Nationals at Brockville on October 18th..

Jessica Power and the Power Racing team would like to thank all of our 2013 sponsors which include Speedy Auto Service, Gananoque Chev-Olds, Fastenal, Wing’s Live Bait & Tackle, John’s Your Local Grocer, Stover Bus Lines, Axcel Sports, Dash Lawncare, Great Chow Express, Star Diner, Len Corcoran Excavating, Glen Gould Estate Construction, Bicknell Racing Products, Bert Transmission, Atomic Sign Works, Bob Hilbert Sportswear, South Eastern Mechanical Inc., Camara Slate, NAPA Auto Parts, Lakins Tile and Finish Line Web Design for their support and we look forward to a very exciting 2013 campaign.

Jessica Power Has Strong Weekend With a Pair of Top 10 Finishes in DIRTcar Sportsman Events at Ransomville and Humberstone Speedway

At this point last season, Jessica Power was in the midst of the first season following the DIRTcar Sportsman Series. She had been running well, but the three race western swing at Ransomville, Merrittville and Humberstone was tough, and it broke any momentum that the team had. With these three events on the schedule this weekend, Power was looking for some strong finishes, to move up in the DIRTcar Sportsman Series point standings.

Ransomville Speedway was the first stop on the weekend schedule on Friday night, and Power started strong posting a third place finish in her qualifying heat race and earning a spot in the redraw for a top 12 starting position. In the redraw, Power randomly picked position number two, and fired from the outside of the front row for the 50 lap main event. The yellow flag was displayed twice in the opening 10 laps, and Power remained inside the top five. As the race progressed, Jessica had lost some ground, but crossed the finish line in 10th place. She later advanced to ninth after another competitor did not pass the standard post race tech inspection.

The action moved to Merrittville Speedway on Saturday night, but a lingering rain forced track officials to cancel the program, giving the team some extra time to prepare for Sunday’s event at Humberstone Speedway in Port Colbourne, Ontario. Jessica started from the 18th position at Humberstone in their 50 lap main event, and worked her through the field to finish solidly inside the top 10 in eighth place.

This coming weekend, Jessica Power will continue the DIRTcar Sportsman Series schedule with a stop at Mohawk International Raceway in Hogansburg, New York on Saturday night. Power was a regular at this track in 2012, and hopes to have an advantage over some of the other competitors in the series. After seven events in the series so far, Jessica is currently in the top five in the overall DIRTcar Series point standings.

Jessica Power and the Power Racing team would like to thank all of our 2013 sponsors which include Speedy Auto Service, Gananoque Chev-Olds, Fastenal, Wing’s Live Bait & Tackle, John’s Your Local Grocer, Stover Bus Lines, Axcel Sports, Dash Lawncare, Great Chow Express, Star Diner, Len Corcoran Excavating, Glen Gould Estate Construction, Bicknell Racing Products, Bert Transmission, Atomic Sign Works, Bob Hilbert Sportswear, South Eastern Mechanical Inc., Camara Slate, NAPA Auto Parts, Lakins Tile and Finish Line Web Design for their support and we look forward to a very exciting 2013 campaign.

Jessica Power Scores Top Ten Finishes at Brockville and Cornwall to End 2013 Regular Season; Raises over $400 for “Cuts for Cancer”

This past weekend was the final weekend on the “regular season” schedule for Jessica Power and the Power Racing team. Brockville Speedway hosted a 40 lap Ogilvie’s Triple Crown Series finale and Cornwall Speedway also hosted a 40 lap event of their own with the final round of the Seaway Sportsman Series.

The starting lineup for the qualifying heat races on Saturday night at Brockville were determined by a timed hot lap session. Jessica struggled early, posting the sixth fastest speed in her group, earning the sixth place starting spot in the heat race. She was able to advance to fifth place after the eight lap event which resulted in 14th place starting position for the 40 lap main event. The team made some adjustments to the car before the feature, and those changes worked as Power moved into the top ten before they had completed lap 10. At the halfway point of the race, Jessica was running in the eighth position, and continued to move forward. On the final corner, Power advanced to sixth place, finishing the 2013 season in sixth place in the overall point standings.

“We have had a good second half of the season”, says Power. “We are looking forward to the remaining events of the year with the DIRTcar Sportsman Series, and hopefully we can keep the momentum going”.

Cornwall Speedway was the next stop on the schedule on Sunday night. Jessica posted the fourth fastest speed in her time trial group, and finished fifth in the eight lap qualifying heat race, resulting in an 18th place starting position in the 40 lap main event. At the drop of the green flag, Jessica moved forward and the end result was a solid seventh place result.

This coming weekend will be a busy one for Jessica Power and the Power Racing team. They will travel west for a three race swing in the DIRTcar Sportsman Series with events at Ransomville Speedway on Friday night, Merrittville Speedway on Saturday night and Humberstone Speedway on Sunday night. This three-race swing will play a pivotal role in DIRTcar Sportsman Series which will continue with events at Mohawk Raceway, Brighton Speedway and RPM Speedway to end the month of September.

Jessica Power and the Power Racing team would like to thank all of our 2013 sponsors which include Speedy Auto Service, Gananoque Chev-Olds, Fastenal, Wing’s Live Bait & Tackle, John’s Your Local Grocer, Stover Bus Lines, Axcel Sports, Dash Lawncare, Great Chow Express, Star Diner, Len Corcoran Excavating, Glen Gould Estate Construction, Bicknell Racing Products, Bert Transmission, Atomic Sign Works, Bob Hilbert Sportswear, South Eastern Mechanical Inc., Camara Slate, NAPA Auto Parts, Lakins Tile and Finish Line Web Design for their support and we look forward to a very exciting 2013 campaign.

Jessica Power Posts Strong Second Place Finish at Brockville Speedway on Saturday Night; Will Donate to “Cuts for Cancer” This Weekend at BOS

With the 2013 regular season quickly coming to an end, Jessica Power and her team have been hitting full stride at the right time, with plenty of big events coming up over the next few weeks. This weekend will be the final weekend of the season at both Brockville and Cornwall, with the exception of Brockville’s 1000 Islands RV DIRTcar Northeast Fall Nationals at the end of October.

This past weekend, Power started the night off with a win in her qualifying heat race. After making some adjustments to keep up with the changing track conditions she hit the track for the 25 lap main event, starting from the fourth position. Power was up third quickly and was in second place when the race was slowed by a caution on lap 19. Despite several attempts to get the lead, she came up just short, but ended with an impressive second place result.

The action continued at Cornwall Speedway on Sunday night. Power finished fourth in the qualifier and after some adjustments, she returned to the track later in the evening for the 20 lap main event starting from the ninth position. She was in eight place after a caution on lap eight, and once the race resumed, contact from another car resulted in left front damage to the car, and was towed to the pit area and did not return.

This coming weekend will be a busy one for Jessica Power and the Power Racing team. Saturday night will be the final points race at the BOS with a 40 lap Ogilvie’s Triple Crown Series finale. On Sunday night, Cornwall Speedway will host a 40 lap main event of their own, with the Seaway Sportsman Series on hand for their 2013 finale. The following weekend, Jessica will travel west for a three race swing in the DIRTcar Sportsman Series with events at Ransomville Speedway on September 6th, Merrittville Speedway on September 7th and Humberstone Speedway on September 8th.

During intermission this weekend at Brockville, Jessica Power will donate 10 inches of hair to the Canadian Cancer Society for their “Cuts for Cancer” program. Representatives will make their way through the grandstand area during the night on Saturday to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society as well.

Jessica Power apparel is available at Brockville Speedway on Saturday nights throughout the season. Stop by the Finish Line Web Design merchandise trailer located behind the main grandstand to purchase your t-shirts or hoodies.

Jessica Power’s Strong Run at Brockville Turns Bad After Mid Race Crash; Team Rebounds With Solid Second Place Result at Cornwall Speedway

With the 2013 season rapidly coming to an end, Jessica Power and her team have been working hard in the shop trying to end the season on a strong note at her weekly tracks. Jessica was back at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night, and off to Cornwall Speedway on Sunday looking to rebound from last week’s disappointing results.

At Brockville Speedway on Saturday night, Jessica started the night off strong, winning her qualifying heat race. During the intermission at Brockville, Jessica took the time to sign autographs for the fans, and by the turnout of race fans waiting in line for the autograph session, it is clear that Jessica has emerged as one of the fan favorites at the BOS, especially with the young race fans. She started fifth in the 25 lap main event and quickly moved to fourth before the first caution of the race on lap three. On the following restart, one of the leaders spun in front of the oncoming traffic, resulting in a big wreck. Power had some heavy damage to the car, but was able to continue. The end result was an 11th place finish, which not puts Jessica seventh in points, and 43 points out of the top five with two races remaining.

“We are really disappointed with how our night ended. “The car was handling great and I feel that we could have had a great finish”, says Power after the race. “We have quite a bit of work to do before tomorrow night”.

After getting the car fixed up, the team moved on to Cornwall Speedway. Just like the previous night Power was fast early, and won her qualifying heat race. In the 20 lap main event, Jessica started from the fourth position and it was almost déjà vu for Jessica, with one of the early leaders facing in the wrong direction on lap three. Power did get a piece of the incident, but the damage was only cosmetic, and she continued on to a solid second place run. Jessica is fourth place in points at Cornwall, and although catching the top three is almost out of reach, she has had some strong finishes as of late and hopes to get back to victory once again in the final two events of the season.

This coming weekend, Jessica Power will be back at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night and on to Cornwall Speedway once again on Sunday. The Mr. DIRTcar Sportsman Series resumes on Friday, September 6th at Ransomville Speedway that kicks off a three race swing with stops at Merrittville Speedway on Saturday, September 7th and Humberstone Speedway on Sunday, September 8th.

Jessica Power apparel is available at Brockville Speedway on Saturday nights throughout the season. Stop by the Finish Line Web Design merchandise trailer located behind the main grandstand to purchase your t-shirts or hoodies.

Jessica Power Scores Top Five Finish at Brockville Speedway on Saturday Night and Two Top Tens in Double Features at Cornwall on Sunday Night

It was a rather busy weekend for Jessica Power and the Power Racing team as they attended Brockville Speedway on Saturday night, followed by double features at Cornwall Speedway on Sunday to make up for a postponed feature from earlier in the season.

At Brockville, Jessica finished a strong second place in the eight lap qualifying heat race and reported to the pit area for some adjustments before hitting the track for the 25 lap main event. She rolled off the starting grid from the third position, and settled into fourth place for most of the first half of the race. At the checkered flag, Power ended the night with a solid fifth place result, moving her up to sixth place in points with just three races remaining.

The action moved on to Cornwall Speedway on Sunday day night with double features on the card, making up for the postponed feature from June 23rd. The make up feature was up first and Jessica started from the third and had fallen to sixth place when the first caution of the race came on lap six. Power maintained a top ten position throughout the 20 lap distance, and crossed the finish line with an eighth place finish. In the second 20 lap feature, Jessica started from 11th and battled to her second top ten finish of the evening, crossing the finish line with a tenth place result.

“We ended the weekend with three top ten finishes, so we are good with that”, says Power. “We were hoping to be a little better at Cornwall in the two features, but we will take it and move on to next week”.

Power is currently sixth place in points at Brockville, locked in a very close battle with only twenty points separating positions 6 through 11 in the standings. The goal for the rest of the season at Brockville is to continue to post solid finishes in the remaining three races, and try and move up into the top five. At Cornwall Speedway, Jessica is seventh in points, but again is locked in a very close battle with three events remaining. She is only five points out of the top five, and just 25 points behind the fourth place driver.

Jessica Power Had Busy Weekend With Double Features at Brockville on Saturday Night and Regular Program at Cornwall Speedway on Sunday

It was a busy weekend for Jessica Power and her race team as they had double features at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night to make up for the postponed feature from the previous week. They also traveled to Cornwall Speedway on Sunday looking to repeat their winning performance from their last visit to the track. With the month of August upon us, the point battles are starting to take shape, with just a few weeks remaining in the regular season.

The night began at Brockville Speedway with the postponed feature race from last week. Jessica started from the 15th position and slowly moved forward during the opening laps of the race. On lap six, Jessica narrowly escaped major damage after a big crash on the front straightaway. By the halfway point of the race, Power was inside the top ten and advanced one more position to ninth before the checkered flag. In the qualifying heat race for the regularly scheduled event for Saturday night, Jessica finished fourth, and returned to the track later in the night for the second 25-lap feature, starting from the 12th position. It was a tough track to pass on by the end of the night, and Jessica ended the night with a 13th place finish.

The action moved on to Cornwall Speedway on Sunday night. Despite several showers throughout the afternoon and early evening, the show continued as scheduled. In the last race at Cornwall, Jessica ended in victory lane, and the previous race she was in a photo finish and ended second. She was hoping for another strong run this week. With several crashes through the night due to track conditions from all the rain, Jessica battled cautiously after starting deep in the field and ended the night with an 11th place finish.

With just four events remaining at each track, Jessica Power will be looking for a strong finish. She is currently eighth place in points at Brockville Speedway, only 15 points out of the top six. At Cornwall Speedway she is in fourth place in the Sportsman point standings.

This coming weekend, Jessica Power will be back at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night and on to Cornwall Speedway once again as they host double features for the Sportsman division to make up for the rained out events on Sunday, June 23rd.

Jessica Power apparel is available at Brockville Speedway on Saturday nights throughout the season. Stop by the Finish Line Web Design merchandise trailer located behind the main grandstand to purchase your t-shirts or hoodies.

Jessica Power Captures First Feature Win at Cornwall Speedway on Sunday Night; Impressive Finishes in DIRTcar Series Races in Quebec

It was a very busy weekend for Jessica Power and her race team this week, with four consecutive nights of racing planned, beginning with the usual visits to Brockville Speedway on Saturday night and Cornwall Speedway on Sunday, followed by DIRTcar Sportsman series events at Autodrome Drummond on Monday night and Autodrome Granby on Tuesday.

The first of four consecutive nights of racing began on Saturday night at Brockville Speedway. Jessica began the night with a fifth place finish in her qualifier and returned to the pits looking to make the car better before hitting the track for the 25 lap feature. During intermission, Jessica and the other BOS drivers took the time to sign autographs for race fans during an on track autograph session. The Sprint Cars were also on hand, and they laid down a great deal of rubber, making the track much different then most Saturday nights. Passing was at a premium throughout the race, and Jessica finished the night with an eighth place result.

The action moved on to Cornwall Speedway on Sunday night, and after coming out on the wrong end of a photo finish last week, Jessica was hoping to get another opportunity to pick up her first ever Cornwall Speedway win. She started fourth in the eight laps qualifier and advanced to second place. In the 20 lap feature, Jessica started from the ninth position and quickly moved forward. By lap four she was up to fourth place and was up to third when the yellow flag was displayed to the field on lap nine. On the ensuing restart, Jessica made a great move to get the lead just before the next caution came out on lap 10. Jessica held the top spot through the rest of the event, claiming her first ever win.

“I have to thank my family and the crew and sponsors for all their support”, says Power from victory lane. “We were really close last week and though we had it, so it really feels nice to come back here and close the deal this week”.

Autodrome Drummond was up next on Monday night as Jessica made her first ever appearance at the track. She was fourth fastest in her time trial group, and finished her qualifying heat race from the fifth position, locking into the 50 lap main event. She started 17th in the feature and steadily moved forward, and crossed the finish line with a solid fourth place run.

The team packed up at Drummondville and hit the road for Autodrome Granby for the fourth and final race night of the weekend. Jessica was fifth fastest in her time trial session an started and finished her heat race from fifth place, earning the 15th place starting position for the 50 lap race. Like the previous night, Jessica was a quick learner on track she had not raced at before, and climbed to sixth place at the checkered flag for another solid finish. The next race in the Sportsman Super DIRTcar Series comes with a three race swing through Ransomville Speedway, Merrittville Speedway and Humberstone Speedway on September 6th, 7th and 8th.

Jessica Power apparel is available at Brockville Speedway on Saturday nights throughout the season. Stop by the Finish Line Web Design merchandise trailer located behind the main grandstand to purchase your t-shirts or hoodies.

Jessica Power Finishes Second at Cornwall Speedway in Thrilling Sportsman Feature on Sunday Night; Busy Week Ahead for Power & Team

It was a quiet weekend for Jessica Power and the Power Racing team, with Brockville Speedway having a night off for the Sportsman division on Saturday night. The only race on the schedule was Sunday night at Cornwall Speedway and Jessica was looking for a solid finish. It has been tough going so far this year at Cornwall, with either rain affecting the program virtually ever week, and bad luck in the races that they have ran.

Sunday night was a new night, and Power was hopeful that it would be a good night. She started the 20 lap feature from the sixth position, and quickly moved forward. The caution was out on lap five, and Jessica had moved into the fourth position and had had great restart, soon taking the lead before the halfway point of the race. Jessica looked poised to bring home her first ever Cornwall Speedway feature win, but she fell to second on the final corner of the final lap.

“It really is a tough way to lose the race”, says Power after the race. “I just made a little mistake, trying to take the line away, and I really should have stuck to doing what had done the rest of the race. Overall I am happy with our performance, but right now it is just a little disappointing”.

It will be a busy week for Jessica and the Power Racing team this week as they start of with a return to Brockville Speedway on Saturday night for a regular show. It will also be driver autograph night, giving race fans an opportunity to meet Jessica and her fellow drivers on the track during intermission. On Sunday, they travel to Cornwall Speedway and will continue east into Quebec of a Monday night event at Autodrome Drummond and Tuesday night at Autodrome Granby for the next two rounds of the DIRTcar Sportsman Series.

Jessica Power apparel is available at Brockville Speedway on Saturday nights throughout the season. Stop by the Finish Line Web Design merchandise trailer located behind the main grandstand to purchase your t-shirts or hoodies.

Jessica Power Grabs Top Five Finish at Brockville Speedway on Saturday Night; Cornwall Speedway Falls to Rain Once Again

It was a busy week for Jessica Power and the Power Racing team. After leaving Cornwall Speedway last weekend after a weekend double header, the team then had a quick turnaround period to get the car ready for a Wednesday trip to the Niagara region with a DIRTcar Sportsman event at Ransomville Speedway. After returning home, Jessica began to prepare for Brockville Speedway on Saturday night as they hosted round two of the Ogilvie’s Auto Triple Crown Series and planned to attend Cornwall Speedway once again on Sunday.

Jessica and the Power Racing team made the trek to Ransomville Speedway on Wednesday for the next round of the DIRTcar Sportsman Series. It was a struggle early in the night as Jessica qualified for 50 lap main event through the consolation race. She was making steady progress once the green flag dropped until lap seven, when Jessica was caught up in a wreck, and although she was able to continue on, the handling of the car was not what it had been before but Jessica was able to battle back to a 15th place finish.

After returning home, their attention now switched to Brockville Speedway for the 40 lap Ogilvie’s Auto Triple Crown Series race. Heat race lineups were determined by a timed hot lap session, and Jessica set fast time in her group, earning a front row starting spot for the preliminary qualifier. After finishing the race in third place, Jessica returned to the pit area to make some adjustments to the car before the night’s 40 lap feature event. She started from the eighth position, and patiently bided her time early in the event. By lap 14 she had moved into sixth place and was inside the top five before the race reached the halfway distance. At the checkered flag, Jessica crossed the finish line with a solid fourth place finish.

“It was a good run for us again tonight”, says Power after the race. “We really struggled early in the season, and hopefully we have put that behind us now, and can build on our recent results”.

The plan was to attend Cornwall Speedway on Sunday night, as they were hosting double features to make up for the rained out event from a couple weeks ago. However, for the fifth time this season, Cornwall Speedway was forced to cancel their program.

This coming weekend will be a quiet for the Jessica Power team. They will have a rare Saturday night off as Brockville Speedway does not have the Sportsman division on the schedule for this weekend. They will be at the Lyndhurst Gun Show this Saturday with Wing’s Live Bait and Tackle. They will return to action at Cornwall Speedway on Sunday night as they attempt their double Sportsman feature night to make up for the rainout from a couple weeks ago.

Jessica Power apparel is available at Brockville Speedway on Saturday nights throughout the season. Stop by the Finish Line Web Design merchandise trailer located behind the main grandstand to purchase your t-shirts or hoodies.

Jessica Power and the Power Racing team would like to welcome back Len Corcoran Excavating as a returning sponsor for the 2013 season. Jessica Power Has Disappointing Weekend at Cornwall Speedway; Team Welcomes Back NAPA Auto Parts as Sponsor for 2013 Season

After picking up her first win of the 2013 season last weekend at Brockville Speedway, Jessica Power and the Power Racing team had a successful week off the track, as NAPA Auto Parts rejoined the team as a marketing partner. With NAPA on board, Power was looking forward the opportunity to get back to the track on Saturday night at Brockville Speedway and again on Sunday and Monday at Cornwall Speedway.

Optimism was high on Saturday as Power returned to Brockville Speedway fresh off their win just a week earlier. She was fast again in the pre race hot lap session and hoped that would continue through the evening. Unfortunately, just after the hot lap session had ended, the rain began to fall and it quickly intensified and racing was soon cancelled for the evening. The team packed up and headed up the highway to Cornwall Speedway to continue their busy Canada Day Weekend.

It has been a tough start to the season at Cornwall all around with rain affecting their program virtually every week since the season started. In the only race of the season at Cornwall going into the weekend, Jessica had a 12th place finish, and they were hoping to improve on that. On Sunday night, Jessica finished fourth in her qualifying heat race, and returned for the feature starting from the sixth position. She had a strong car early and was inside the top five until contact was made from another car while battling for position, and was unable to continue.

“It really is unfortunate because we had a great car tonight”, says Power after the race. “The track was quite rough out there and there was some water on the inside of the corners and that made it really tough to deal with. If a car got in the water it would shoot up the track, and we were on the receiving end of that tonight which resulted in a flat tire”.

On Monday, Jessica was back at Cornwall for the second round of the Mr. DIRTcar Sportsman series. After posting the fastest speed in her time trial group (second fastest overall), she started her heat race from the front row and crossed the finish line with a fourth place result, locking into the field for the 50 lap feature event later in the night. She lined up in the 16th position to start the main event. The rough track conditions played havoc throughout the race, and with a light rain falling throughout most of the race certainly added to the frustrations. At the end of 50 laps Power finished in the 21st position.

This coming week will be busy once again for Power as the DIRTcar Sportsman series moves to Ransomville Speedway on Wednesday night followed by the weekly visit to Brockville Speedway on Saturday night for a 40 lap Ogilvie’s Auto Triple Crown Series race. They will end the weekend at Cornwall Speedway on Sunday night.

The Power Racing team is also excited to welcome back NAPA Auto Parts as a marketing partner for the 2013 season. Napa Auto Parts is located near the Memorial Center in Kingston on 77 Concession Street.

“We are thrilled to have NAPA Auto Parts back on board with us in 2013”, says Jessica Power. “We have had a great week on the track with our win last week at Brockville and welcoming back a great marketing partner like NAPA really means a lot to myself and our team”.

Jessica Power apparel is available at Brockville Speedway on Saturday nights throughout the season. Stop by the Finish Line Web Design merchandise trailer located behind the main grandstand to purchase your t-shirts or hoodies.

Jessica Power Wins First of 2013 at Brockville Ontario Speedway; Cornwall Speedway Sportsman Feature Postponed Due to Rain

The 2013 racing season has certainly been frustrating for Jessica Power and the Power Racing team through the first few weeks of the season. Bad luck, and just simply being at the wrong place at the wrong time had taken its toll on the team. They were hoping for a much better week, with event planned at Can Am Motorsports Park on Wednesday night, followed by the usual weekly events at Brockville Speedway on Saturday and Cornwall Speedway on Sunday.

It was a big night or racing at Can Am on Wednesday night with 35 Sportsman cars signed into the pit area all aiming for the $2000 to win payout. Jessica had a great night, finishing with a strong seventh place finish.

On Saturday night, Jessica was at Brockville Speedway looking to build some momentum off their strong outing at Can Am. Jessica had a fast car, and finished second in her qualifying heat race. In the 25 lap main event, she started from the front row and quickly jumped out to the lead. She held the top spot for all 25 laps, holding off the two time defending Brockville Speedway champion to claim her first victory of 2013.

“We really needed this one”, says Power from victory lane. “It really has been demoralizing for all of us the way things have gone the first few weeks of the season. I really have to thank the crew for all their hard work, this just makes it all worthwhile”.

After leaving Brockville, the team made the trip to Cornwall Speedway on Sunday. Jessica finished second in her qualifying race, and after making some adjustments to the car, they were ready for the 20 lap feature. Rain began to fall just before the Sportsman teams were set to lineup, and the race will now be postponed to a later date.

Jessica Power’s Early Season Frustrations Continue at Brockville Speedway; 12th Place Finish at Cornwall Speedway Opener

The extreme wet conditions and continuous rain throughout the region has made it tough for Jessica Power and the Power Racing team to build any momentum early in the 2013 season. The team virtually had the weekend off the previous week with rain ending the night early at Brockville just after the time trials, and a third consecutive rainout at Cornwall. This week they were back at Brockville as they continued where they left off last week in the first race of the Ogilvie’s Auto Triple Crown Series and on to Cornwall Sunday as they finally opened their 2013 season.

Jessica was fifth fastest in her time trial session before the rain the previous week and would pick up where they left off this week, starting fifth in her qualifying heat race. The race was relatively uneventful, and Jessica maintained that position. After making adjustments to the car, they were ready to hit the track for the 40 lap main event. She started from the 16th position and struggled at the drop of the green flag. The rough track conditions from all of the rain the past couple days played havoc on all the race teams, and Power was no different. She ended the night credited with a disappointing 22nd place finish.

Sunday was a new day, and after getting the car ready for Cornwall Speedway as they finally opened for the 2013 season. Track conditions once again were less than idea do to the volume of rain the area has received, but they continued on. Jessica finished fifth in her qualifying heat race, and returned to the pit area to make changes before the 20 lap main event. It was a long night at the track with multiple crashes in other divisions, and by the time the Sportsman feature had concluded it was after 1am. Power finished in 12th place after starting 17th.

This coming Friday night, Jessica will race at Brockville Speedway on Saturday before finishing out the weekend on Sunday night at Cornwall. It will be driver autograph night at the track on Sunday, so come on out and meet Jessica and the other Cornwall Speedway drivers during intermission.

Jessica Power apparel is available at Brockville Speedway on Saturday nights throughout the season. Stop by the Finish Line Web Design merchandise trailer located behind the main grandstand to purchase your t-shirts or hoodies.

Jessica Power Has Strong Performance in SUNY Canton Shootout at Can Am Motorsports Park; Early Season Frustrations Continue at Brockville

It was all set to be a busy weekend for Jessica Power and the Power Racing team. It started last Wednesday with a mid-week special at Chapman’s Can Am Motorsports Park in Lafargeville, New York, and back at Can Am again on Friday night, before returning to Brockville Speedway on Saturday night, and ending with Cornwall Speedway on Sunday. Those plans were altered drastically as Mother Nature played havoc throughout the weekend.

It was the first of four SUNY Canton Shootout events at Can Am Motorsports Park last Wednesday night. Jessica finished her qualifying heat race from fifth place, giving her a tenth place starting spot for the 40 lap main event. Before they hit lap 10, Jessica had worked her way inside the top five, and continued to run well, trying to utilize the high side of the track that appeared to be the fast way around the half mile track. They reached the halfway point of the event at lap 20, and she was running well in the fourth position, with the leaders in close proximity. Power would remain in fourth for the duration of the race.

The next race on the schedule was back at Can Am on Friday night, but a steady rain forced track officials to cancel early in the day. The team then shifted their attention to Saturday’s races at Brockville Speedway.

The team arrived at Brockville hoping to better their performance from the previous week. They had a fast car that night, but a faulty kill switch caused them to lose power early in the feature and ended with a disappointing finish in the first race in the Seaway Series. This past week, Jessica finished fifth in the preliminary heat race and started 17th in the 25 lap feature. She was caught up in an early race incident and ended the night with a disappointing 22nd place finish.

Cornwall was next on the schedule, but for the second weekend in a row, they were forced to cancel their program. This will set up another busy weekend for Jessica and the team, with Chapman’s Can Am Motorsports Park on Friday night, Brockville Speedway on Saturday night for the first race in the Ogilvie’s Auto Triple Crown Series, and Sunday is the first race of the Mr. DIRTcar Sportsman Series.

Jessica Power and the Power Racing team would like to invite all young fans to check out the kids club section of our website. Download and print the cartoon racecar and submit to Jessica after the races each night. The last Saturday of every month during the season, Jessica will pick a random winner among the entries received, and that young fan will win a photo of Jessica's car and another prize that has yet to be determined. Depending on number of entries received, Jessica would like to hang the photos up inside the trailer throughout the month preceding the draw. So get out your crayons and markers, download the photo on the website, print it off and get coloring. You could be a winner. The next draw will take place on Saturday, June 29th at Brockville Speedway.

Jessica Power and the Power Racing team would like to welcome back Len Corcoran Excavating as a returning sponsor for the 2013 season. Jessica Power Gets 6th Place Finish at Glen Gould Memorial Opener at Brockville; Welcomes Back Len Corcoran Excavating as 2013 Sponsor

Although Jessica Power has a few races in already in 2013, the opener at Brockville Speedway was circled on the calendar ever since the schedule had been released. Not only was Saturday night the season opener at their home track, it was also Glen Gould Memorial Night. Glen was a great supporter of Jessica and her team, and when he passed away last fall, it left a huge hole in the hearts of the entire racing community.

Power arrived at Brockville Speedway with a tribute paint scheme, honoring Mr. Gould. She started the night at the rear of her qualifying heat race and battled to a fifth place finish. Once back in the pit area, the team made some changes to the car, looking to fine tune the setup going into the 25 lap main event. She would start the feature from the 19th position and gradually moved forward as the race progressed. By the halfway point, she had moved into the top ten, and continued to move towards the top five. With three laps remaining she moved into sixth, and crossed the finish line in that position.

“The car worked really well tonight”, said Power after the race. “If we had started a little higher up we definitely could have been inside the top five. It was a good start to our season and we will build on this next week”.

This coming weekend will be a busy one for Jessica and the team as they celebrate the Victoria Day Holiday beginning with a Friday night trip to Can Am Motorsports Park in Lafargeville, New York. They will be back at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night for the first race in the Seaway Sportsman Series. On Sunday, they will travel to Cornwall Speedway for their opening night of 2013.

Jessica Power and the Power Racing team would like to invite all young fans to check out the kids club section of our website. Jessica Power Gets Top Five Finish at Can Am on Friday Night; Emotional BOS Season Opener This Saturday With Glen Gould Memorial

After a couple road trips to start the season, Jessica Power and her team stayed a little closer to home this past weekend with a rare appearance at Can Am Motorsports Park in Lafargeville, New York on Friday night, and some practice laps at Brockville Speedway on Saturday afternoon in preparation for their opening night this coming Saturday.

Making her fist start at Can Am in almost a year, Jessica started from the back of her preliminary qualifying heat race, and worked her way up inside the top five. She started the 25 lap main event from the 15th starting spot, and progressed steadily through the field. By lap ten, she was inside the top 10 and continued to move forward. With a caution slowing the field with just three laps remaining Jessica was in seventh place and moved up one spot when one of the leaders lost power under caution. With the green flag back out, Power worked her way up one more position for a fantastic fifth place finish.

“We had a real good run here tonight at Can Am”, says Power after the race. “It has been a year since we last visited this track, so to come out of here with a top five finish after starting deep in the field is a great way to start our season”.

On Saturday, Power made the trip to Brockville Speedway for their annual practice day, leading up to opening night this coming weekend. Despite being on a track with conditions unlike anything they will see during the season, the practice was a success, and Power is looking forward to the 2013 opener at the BOS.

The first draw will take place on Saturday, May 25th at Brockville Speedway.

Saturday night’s opener at the BOS will be an emotional night for everyone, as it is the first annual Glen Gould Memorial night. Glen was a big part of the Power Racing team, as a sponsor, but more importantly he was a great friend to everyone. Power, along with fellow Sportsman competitor Dana Aikins will carry a tribute paint scheme this weekend to honor Glen Gould.

Jessica Power and the Power Racing team would like to thank Speedy Auto Service, Gananoque Chev-Olds, Fastenal, Wing’s Live Bait & Tackle, John’s Your Local Grocer, Stover Bus Lines, Axcel Sports, Dash Lawncare, Great Chow Express, Star Diner, Len Corcoran Excavating, Glen Gould Estate Construction, Bicknell Racing Products, Bert Transmission Atomic Sign Works, Bob Hilbert Sportswear, South Eastern Mechanical Inc., Camara Slate, and Finish Line Web Design for their support and we look forward to a very exciting 2013 campaign.

Jessica Power Impressive in Merrittville Speedway Debut; Brake Issues Slow Them Down During Feature Event

For the second year in a row, Jessica Power and her team traveled to Merrittville Speedway in Thorold, Ontario for their season opening ‘Spring Sizzler’. In two previous attempts at Merrittville, Power had struggled, but the team was confident that with more experience, they would be able to figure out arguably one of the toughest tracks on the DIRTcar scene.

After a great draw to determine starting positions for the heat, Jessica powered from the outside of the second row in the qualifying event, and managed to get to the front and took the win, holding off one of the toughest competitors in the field. She also started up front in the Sportsman main event, but it was soon evident that the car was not as strong as it was earlier in the evening, and she ended the night with a 22nd place finish.

“It certainly wasn’t the finish we were hoping for after getting off to such a strong start”, said Jessica after the race. “We lost our brakes, and the car was just way too loose. We will have lots of work to do in the shop over the next week”.

Power hopes to return to Merrittville for one last trip before Brockville Speedway opens up for the 2013 season on Saturday, May 11th. Power also plans to race at Mohawk Raceway and Cornwall Speedway weekly, and they open on Friday, May 17th and Sunday, May 19th respectively.

Jessica Power Ready to Resume Season After Last Weekend’s Rainout; Welcomes Dash Lawncare as Marketing Partner for 2013

After a week of rain and cool weather, Jessica Power and her team had to alter their original plans of making a return trip to Canandaigua Motorsports Park last weekend after track officials cancelled their program. Power and her team certainly didn’t sit idle though, as the Brockville Speedway Fan Fair and the Mohawk International Raceway awards banquet also was scheduled for Saturday.

Jessica attended the Brockville Speedway Fan Fair on Saturday at Walmart in Brockville. It was a great event, that brought out many other race teams, fans, track officials and many other people that may not get out to the track during the season. The event helped raise money for CHEO with the charity BBQ that took place, and they also had the Texas Tuxedos band playing throughout the day.

On Saturday night, because of the Canandaigua rainout, Power was able to attend the Mohawk International Raceway Awards Banquet where she was honored for her top five performance in both the regular track championship point standings and the Frenchie’s Sportsman Series standings.

“It was a fun weekend for sure, but I would much rather be back behind the wheel of my car”, says Power. “Hopefully the weather will co-operate this weekend for us”.

The Power Racing team would like to welcome Dash Lawncare as a new marketing partner for the 2013 season. Jessica Power Accomplishes Primary Goal in First Race of 2013; Busy Weekend Ahead With BOS Fan Fair and Return Trip to Canandaigua

Following the same format as she did to start the 2012 season, Jessica Power and the Power Racing team made their season debut at Canandaigua Motorsports Park, just east of Rochester, New York. The primary goal on the opening day was to make the race and run all the laps, which was a task in itself, because of the number of cars, and the quality drivers that had signed into the pit area. Canandaigua is a track that Jessica has very limited experience at, so getting some time on the track was the main purpose of the trip.

Power was up to the challenge, and was impressive in her qualifying heat race. She finished the race in second place, making the all-important redraw for a top 8 starting spot in the night’s 35 lap main event. Jessica drew the seventh position, and lined up on the inside of row four at the drop of the green flag. Although the race was a bit of a struggle, Jessica did accomplish her goal of running every lap of the race, and her success early in the preliminary events made this years trip to Canandaigua a great success.

“The car was really good in the heat race, and I just didn’t want to make to many drastic changes on the car”, says Power. “We were a little bit off during the feature, and we struggled. I am very pleased overall though, and it was great to get back on the track and get some laps in before the season starts at home”.

This coming weekend will be busy for Jessica and her team. She will be at Walmart in Brockville on Saturday from 10am to 1pm for the second annual Brockville Speedway Fan Fair, and will depart there for a return trip to Canandaigua, looking to better her finish from the previous week. Power will also attend opening night at Merrittville Speedway on April 27th, before Brockville Speedway opens for the 2013 season for practice on May 4th, and opening night on May 11th.

Jessica Power and the Power Motorsports team would like to thank Speedy Auto Service, Gananoque Chev-Olds, Fastenal, Wing’s Live Bait & Tackle, John’s Your Local Grocer, Stover Bus Lines, Axcel Sports, Great Chow Express, Star Diner, Len Corcoran Excavating, Glen Gould Estate Construction, Bicknell Racing Products, Bert Transmission Atomic Sign Works, Bob Hilbert Sportswear, South Eastern Mechanical Inc., Camara Slate, and Finish Line Web Design for their support and we look forward to a very exciting 2013 campaign.

Jessica Power Racing Silent Auction Set for This Week at Frontenac Mall Motorsports Expo; Fundraiser to Help Send Jessica to RACE 101 Program

There is no question that racing is an expensive sport, and anyone that has ever been associated with a race team can attest to that. Jessica Power and her race team have a strong group of marketing partners that have come on board to help off-set some of the costs involved. This year, Power has a unique opportunity as a scholarship recipient from the RACE 101 school in North Carolina where she attends a few classes per year in the Charlotte, North Carolina area, and weekly online seminars as well.

This coming weekend, Jessica and her team will have their car on display at the Frontenac Mall in Kingston, Ontario. The team will be hosting a silent auction, with several great items up for grabs, donated by various local business, tracks within the Northeast, and many other businesses that Jessica and her team have associated with. All items were donated to Jessica for the auction, and the proceeds will help Jessica with the costs involved in attending the prolific racing school.

Some of the items that will be available through the silent auction include a pair of tickets to Canandaigua Motorsports Park to see Tony Stewart compete in a Sprint Car. 2 tickets to Fulton Speedway for July 17th when Tony Stewart and Kasey Kahne are competing with the All Star Sprint Car Series, a $75 Gift Certificate for Sherwood Racing Wheels, a diecast Tony Stewart car from Starting Line Hobbies, a model Dirt Modified car (Billy Decker, Brett Hearn or Danny Johnson courtesy of Racers Preferred Models, a zero gravity chair from 1000 Islands RV, items from Fastenal, a Go Nuclear Late Model Series ‘Hoodie’, an oil change from Speedy Auto Service (691 Princess St.), tool belt from Master’s and a Finish Line Web Design hat. More items will be added leading up to the show, which starts on Thursday morning when the mall opens. The show runs through Saturday afternoon.

“We have had a lot of support from everyone, and I really appreciate it”, says Power. “We have some great items available in the silent auction, and I look forward to talking to people at the show. Generally we get a lot of race fans come through, but there are also a lot of Mall regulars that maybe have never been to one of our races, and I look forward to talking to them as well”.

Many people are unaware of what RACE 101 is all about. It is not just a school. RACE 101 stands for Research, Analyze, Consult, and Educate 1 on 1. The yearly Scholarship Program focuses on working with specially selected young drivers (ages 13-28) from the US and Canada through an application process similar to a college or university. The program lasts over the course of a year, with proven teaching and coaching methods that give the students one on one time with instructors, classroom time, track time, hands-on experience as well as homework assignments and weekly online seminars.

Jessica Power and the Power Motorsports team would like to thank Speedy Auto Service, Gananoque Chev-Olds, Fastenal, Jackson’s Landscaping and Property Maintenance, Wing’s Live Bait & Tackle, John’s Your Local Grocer, Stover Bus Lines, Axcel Sports, Great Chow Express, Star Diner, Len Corcoran Excavating, Glen Gould Estate Construction, Bicknell Racing Products, Bert Transmission Atomic Sign Works, Bob Hilbert Sportswear, South Eastern Mechanical Inc., Camara Slate, and Finish Line Web Design for their support during the 2012 racing season, and we look forward to a very exciting 2013 campaign.
